Anything other than a MK1 Brother Big Bro out there?
Want something with mudguard + f & r rack mounts, qr front & rear, flat bar suitable. Alternatively could I get a frame builder to change the drop outs on my longitude & add some rear mudguard mounts. Needs to take 29x2.4 without guards or 29x2.2 with guards.
Mk1 - MkIV Singular Swift if you can find one? Singular used to do a touring fork for them but again you'd be looking secondhand.
Are your hubs not convertible or new wheels not an option? I get the feeling that it's the QR requirement that's limiting.
Had a non eeb one a few years back with salsa fork & it was great but no rack or mudguard fixings, in retrospect I should have kept it & had it modified.
Yes, already have 2 wheel sets which are QR front & rear but can convert to 15 x 100 front and actually prefer QR for my use.
My Mk IV Swift has rack & mudguard points so if you could find one it might be worth a look.
my krampus ops as normal drop outs. not the usual shyte surly odd things.
fits all your needs if you can find one.
One of the Stooges, the mk8 i think. He might even have some soon

Apologies, did you mean you want a quick release bike? I’d certainly look through the stooge archives for options.
Yeah QR preferably, could do 12x142 & 15x100 at a push but for me QR is so simple, quick & very much suits what I have. I have a 2017 Longitude but it's horizontal drop out pisses me off + doesn't really permit a full mudguard either
Possibly a Surly Bridge Club?

Had full guards on my longitude. Slight faff, granted, as the tyre has to be flat to get the wheel out but it does work if you weren't sure
Possibly a Surly Bridge Club?
Sadly won't take a 29 x 2.4" tyre from what I can see?
Also had full guards on my Longitude, as above, rear wheel removal was a bit of a pain. SKS 65 mm worked well with 27.5x2.8 and 29x2.6
Keep your Longitude and rebuild your rear wheel with This Zee rear hub and this rear qr axle - allows you to drop the wheel in/out vertically. Completely solved the only issue I had with mine! Way cheaper than a new frame, even if you have to do two rear wheels.
The rear mudguard issue is pretty easy to solve if you get a thin piece of tubing and some long bolts to go through the upper rack mounts, essentially you can make a removable chainstay bridge and use a p-clip to attach the guards. I can post a photo tomorrow if you want to see what I mean.
My Rambler is 15x100 and 12x142 but it’s 27.5 inch wheels. It’s long enough to be built with flat bars
Steezysix I actually have a thru axle on one wheel set & yes it's way easier than not when it comes to mudguards but you still have to withdraw the thru bolt & line it all up - QRs are just so much simpler, guess I'm just going to live with it for now. Did think a bridge across the rack brackets would do the trick.
Just a stab in the dark, and rather outside my limited scope of knowledge, but although both the Brother Big Bro & the Sonder Broken Road are boost & thru-axle, they also both have sliding dropouts. Assuming that it's possible to ascertain a make, is it possible to fit QR inserts or does the boost spacing make this impossible?
Brother Cycles don't seem to have QR inserts available.
As for mudguards, I had a Surly Troll with mudguards and I put a QR mudguard thingy, like the ones that come from the front wheel, on the rear so I could unclip the back mudguard to give the wheel room to slide out. That worked ok for a while but was a bit annoying as it got worn and less secure. I then moved to the type of ‘guards and stays that have a plastic adjuster at the mudguard end. They worked really well and it was easy to undo them to allow the wheel to come out. I am only talking about occasional wheel removal for a commuter bike here mind.
Part of the problem is that I have to take both wheels off to fit a large 29er in my car 😞
Re the Big Bro, it was the mk 1 that was qr both ends, was hoping there might be something else similar 2nd hand to keep my eye out for.
Early Big Bro's were 15x100mm (f) and 12x142 mm (r) thru axles. They went boost around 2020/21.
I sold my Longitude and got one of them instead. I had to buy some Hope end caps to fit the wheels into the Big Bro frame, previously used QR skewers on the Longitude

Earlier ones were qr according to photos & review from 2018

So they did, never knew that. Mine is a 2019 with the above axles.
