Looking at getting some lightweight rotors (alligator or ashima).
The ones with loads of cut outs.
I've seen somewhere that the pad wear is much worse with these and so need to use sintered pads.
anyone got experience of this type of rotor and pad wear??
I actually think they lasted better, I put it down to the smaller rotors running much much hotter and therefore the pad surface maintained it's hardness.
The downside is the power was down a bit and there were issues with compatibility. On balance I've gone back to OEM disks unless I lose 4 stone and want to build a weightweenie bike again.

I suspect they'll be fine then! They're no worse than V-brakes used to be.
I think it varies with brakes tbh... I used airotors with my old formula oros and wasn't very happy, they were a bit juddery and weak and the pads wore fast- but they have small pads. With my the ones, they're much better- much larger pads. I don't really notice a difference in power, it's not as simple as it seems- reducing the contact patch/friction area increases the pressure on the friction area.

I've been riding and racing Quaxar rotors on OEM SLX pads since last September, my pads are about half worn, consideingr the effort they go through in racing I'm quite impressed with the longevity.

About half the weight of most people on here then 😈 they'll be fine
