light bikes - is it real or relative. when i first built my scandal it felt so light. light tyres, no gears, carbon forks etc.

recently it hasn't been feeling like that at all.

i've been riding a 456 with coil pikes and gears for a month now. rode my scandal for the first time in a month yesterday and it felt light again! ace.

It's all relative. After riding a <18lb singlespeed getting on a 22lb geared and suspended bike feels heavy. I can't bring myself to imagine riding a 30lb bike other than downhill...

nah, my 30lb xc bike is way too light and spindly to do the downhills justice.
