Ned, it was on the Camino Frances in Spain. Great route if you like trail graffiti.

Not as fantastic as many of the bikes here, but I've put this together for DaughterSeadog who is heading off to Uni. Created out of a Carrera Valour frame, Mosso forks, bits and pieces bought cheap, things swapped of other bikes, and things in the parts bin.

Painted badly so as not to attract too much tea leaf interest. Yes I know the front mudguard is a bit too far off the wheel, but thats the best we could do without silly amounts of bodge.

Rides very nicely.

Not wanting to be left out...Ragley Big Wig in current rigid set up with possibly the ugliest forks known to man.
Rides great though.

I know...steerer, brake hoses, end plugs, grass etc etc

yes, it's a bit portly but a bit underrated - don't think they made them for very long for some reason, but pretty flexible frame if set up appropriately. Slack enough with a long travel fork for some fun downhill, but not too bad XC either.

So I've got this IO -

And I was going to retire it as bought a cheap 29er and it does the job better (dog walks, trips to shops etc)... then I find the trailer's connecting arms don't reach the axle past the 29er wheel! So the Genesis lives on.

Mainly use mine for commuting these days but still like to do some proper rides on it now & again to remind me how good modern bikes are. This was on a 30 mile Quantocks ride, I usully like to do some of the triscombe d/h runs & the chimney just to make things interesting 😆

My gorgeous 94 Kilauea, recently had a full nut and bolt restoration, bought new in 1994 by me. Probably the only possession I have which I will never ever sell and that I would be genuinely upset if it was stolen.

Oh and it rides like a dream too. 🙂

handles brilliantly when you get a james made forks and bar for it rather than slapping a boingy frontage on what it doesnt like 😀

My recently purchased 1994 Marin Bobcat Trail:

Rides well, very smooth and feels quite fast, have stuck some semi-slicks on now as it won't get any proper off road use I don't think.

SS Genesis iO:

Frame & Pipedream fork off classifieds, parts bin/lbs parts bin/cheap as poss. online for the rest. Being painted or powder coated soon, but not sue what colour - any ideas welcome!

The original cantis were Kona ones and were legendarily bad even for cantis. I had HS33's back in the day but didn't want to zip tie cables to the newly painted frame. I bought some mega fancy period parallel push brakes (the kind of things that Shimano copied and made brilliant) but they didn't work very well so just put some modern V's on, work well!!

core, it is indeed a 2015 longitude, Velocity Rims, Chronicles, 35mm stem and a 1x10 drivetrain with a 42 expander sprocket. Lovely bit of kit and remarkably capable

Looks and sounds brilliant, a keeper that for sure, I bet if a lot of people had one in their fleet it would survive a lot of comings and goings of other bikes!

Not sure if this really counts. It gets used to ride to the shop every once in a while. I bought it for a tenner to use on a pub crawl bike ride thing. I keep meaning to do it up a bit but I can never be arsed. By do it up a bit I mean get a nicer looking saddle, sort the brakes out, singlespeed it properly and get a quill stem adaptor so I can use something longer and wider. Would probably make it fine for all the local bridleways at any rate.

About the longest I've owned a bike.
These fangled plus size tyres suit it a treat.
I've a 2015 Five in the garage but it's not seeing a lot of use since those tyres went on.

Frood - you say the Longitude is capable? In what way?

Have seen someone in my town nipping around on a Longitude, need to chase them down and have a chat really!
