Just waiting for a higher rise stem to arrive, so my chin's not resting on the steerer quite as much. Currently used as a commuter, but well be using it for longer touring/bikepacking stuff as well.

All the pics I have of 69ers are most definitely NSFW.

Sorry.

Indeedy, hence not being able to google "69er images" whilst sitting at work ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you have one?
If you don't, try one, then maybe you'll see why a lot of folk ride them
Yes they will never be the best looking bike but the ride overrides that looks in my humble opinion
I have had 29ers, but always seem to return to my 69er

Oh I don't know about that...no different to clambering into bed with a laydee with one boob bigger than the other....might still be a fantastic ride ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ooo, lots of inspiration here, I keep toying with the idea of 69ering in my Handjob (15.5" frame), and then converting to SS. May get a Hummingbird fork and go from there.

What front 29er rim would match my DT 5.1? Or any matching 26/29" rim combos that match each other as I have a DT 240 SS & Hope XC in the parts bin.

Anyone any experience of http://www.trickstuff.de/de/products/exzentriker_KL.php?

Keep your 69ers cummimg.

Nooooo, I'm a tart. The olive green Hummingbird fork should match my flat green Cove nicely and the theme will then be set.

As the above comments say, they ride a lot better than they look! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have a 120mm hardtail and was considering fitting some 150mm forks as I have some sitting around.
But after some googling which said the bike would be slacker and less responsive and generally worse to ride in an xc capacity.

And also I would be pushing back the seat tube angle there for putting more strain on the frame.
Which would then snap and I would die.
so did not bother.

So does fitting a 29er wheel on the front not have the same effect.

Just asking like.

In answer to Chip: going from 120mm 26er to rigid 69er doesn't slacken things off - remember the 26er will need 12cm extra space at the front for that travel. ๐Ÿ™‚ Take a look at the last three pics and note the gap between the top of front tyre and the headtube.

Incidentally, I'm selling the forks in the last two pics - I now also have a 29er to go with the Hummingbird, so they're a little surplus. 177mm steerer. I can throw in a suitable front wheel.

Not a franken-bike but a Trek Top Fuel 69er, bit of a crap picture I'm afraid. Bought from the classifieds, powder coated and built up into my favourite bike.

I 69er'd my inbred with a 440mm fork and a 29er wheel.

TBH while it was ok, I never really felt that it was different enough or had any real advantage to be worthwhile for where/how I ride at least and reverted back to vanilla 26"

Restlessnative- nice work, thinking of doing the same to my inbred. Is that a 18" frame? I'm worried about toe overlap...

That's a 16", no toe overlap even with a 2.4 Ardent on the front now (2.25 in that pic)

I don't have big feet though

Is anyone running a full sus frame with 29er forks? I have an odd idea about running a 650b Burner with a 29er front end. Is this madness?

Well, I've got a Trek Top Fuel 69er, but I don't suppose that counts, as it was designed to be like that.

Ventana El Chuco is full sus designed to run at 69*
