This is for the chap asking why there aren't many MTB clubs.

Let's list what we DO have.

I'm in Southampton and I'm in two:

www.newforce.org.uk (New Forest & Winchester/Southdowns mainly)

www.dorsetroughriders.co.uk (Dorset & Purbecks - base Broadstone Leisure Centre)

Over to YOU.

Looked at the Dorset rough riders website when we had a holiday down there, looks great, wished I lived there rather than muddy Northants ๐Ÿ™

In my area (Surrey / Berks / Hants borders)

Berks on Bikes
West Drayton
VCGH (road club but with active MTB section)
Tunnel Hill Trolls
Muddy Moles

Last two aren't really clubs, but are loose collectives, so no committees or meetings, but they do have forums and organised regular rides

Could stw maybe have a clubs tab on the top. Clubs could be submitted, vetted then linked up on a google map by location. Like the trails bit. Just a thought.

I am not sure you could vet the guys I ride with ( it's like herding cats organising a ride) and as much as I hate change, that's a fine idea.

Was in Edinburgh Road Club back in the late 90's/early 00s then moved to Stirling Bike Club (when I moved house).

Currently devoid of any clubs and have been for 5 or 6 years now since moving to the Lakes and being Billy no Mates ๐Ÿ˜‰ Not actually found a suitable replacement for the reprobates in Stirling as of yet!
