We're down that way tomorrow, anyone know if it's open all the time or are there certain days/hours it's shut?

All here, including opening times of the cafe:
https://www.leedsurbanbikepark.com/

Mon - Thurs 9AM-6PM
Friday 9AM-6PM
Saturday 9AM-5PM
Sunday 9AM-5PM
Bank Holidays 9AM-5PM

IIRC, the car park itself is open dawn until dusk and you can certainly ride when the cafe is closed. Personally, I think it's a great place to play, but not somewhere I'd be after dark...

Any reason? I'm not familiar with the area.

We went for the first time yesterday. Can't wait to get back. If that BMX track was lit I'd be up there this week for an evening sesh.

Have done a few night time spins round there and it’s fine.

Didnt see anyone other than other riders doing the same. 👍

We were there last Sunday until well after dark and the car park was still open.

Middleton ain't the nicest corner of Leeds. Obviously, your attitude to this completely depends on your aversion to risk and strength in numbers is always good, but we were asked by a few local (non-biking) kids the normal "Nice bike, mister. How much did that cost then?" and when the mopeds started to appear 20 minutes later we decided that we were happy with what we'd won, and would be content to leave with our bendy bullys, bus-fare home...and our bikes too! By the time we left (after the cafe had shut, but before dusk, mid-week), we were the only "real" bikers still there, but far from the only people!

I really don't want to talk the place down as I think it's a great facility and hopefully will become a real focus for improvement of a pretty downtrodden corner of Leeds, but it's just worth pointing out that, like any city bike park, there will always be increased risks of theft. Be sensible.

Tuesday night rides are starting 4/12, 630-730, bring lids and lights.

£5 in apparently, but that includes pre ride coffee and cake

I understand there are more trails to come.

Getting the BMX track lit, at night, in winter would be awesomes! Especially if some of the nights were public access and not just for a BMX club or such like.

Great place that makes up for it's lack of gradient and sub optimal surrounding area with jumps jumps and more jumps.

Been there today. Great facility. Two of us drove up from Sheffield which says something in itself. Really impressed and plan to head back.

Regarding feeling safe after dark I’m not sure what it would be like, we talked about the possibility of night rides after work (both of us work j36 m1 so doable) and I didn’t really consider that there would be an issue. Always possible I guess. As above organised night rides starting in a couple of weeks.

It was so busy today it was great to see- really is a 6-60 years facility. Compared to what we’ve got currently in Sheff it’s great. We get kids on pit bikes at parkwood and mxers at greno but there would be none of that at lubp as it’s so busy. Certainly at the weekend.

Still bottled out of the big drop though...

Well that was ace! I bottled the drop (and the other black bits) too- meh. Next time, Gadget! Next time... We'll be heading back down from here in the future, it's about as far as Kielder from us in distance (80-dd miles) and only takes a smidge longer to get to than Hamsters does taking the twiddly roads around there into account. Decent cup of tea from the caf as well 🙂 There was a lass there smashing laps of the red track out, she was properly flying.

1st time had a real ride today absolutely loved it and not too crowded (Clearly most at work or school),  I started with Blue then Red, then woods and finished on Red.

I only spent a few hours today but will certainly be supporting this venue everything about it was right,  they clearly put a lot of work and investment in.

Only tip need some healthy food in cafe and coffee was great.

Leeds Urban Bike Park you have a new number 1 fan.

Had my 4th visit last weekend, it's a great place and love the fact you can chop and change the xc loop to vary it. Plan to take a group from work in Jan, most don't bike much or are roadies so it's an.ideal spot and pretty central for us all. They couldn't believe it when I said there was no cost involved although we'll be sure to visit the cafe.
