[#2815585]

After a pretty bad accident on Saturday, I was on Morphine for two days and now a concotion of Oxycontin, Percocet and Valium. I've also been taking a laxative called Senna and some Milk of Magnesia.

Any other suggestions, I've not pooped since last Saturday morning and I'm starting to get worried.

Senna is a stimulant, makes you want to poo. You might want to take something that acts as a softener too(lactulose is readily available but might take a while to work). Movicol is a softener and stimulant and not as harsh as senna.

Keep well hydrated!

Two pomegranates, dried fruit, a coke and a jog; if that doesn't get you moving nothing will. Human blender.

You might just have to ride it out. Morphine does that to you.

Alternatively, get going with the dried apricots and water and stay close to the bog.

Sounds like it must have been a tremendous accident! Bike related?

When I was in hospital in Japan after breaking my leg skiing, they put me on a steady diet of morphine, with the same consequences as you are experiencing. Prior to the epidural for the tibial pin insertion, a very foxy Japanese nurse gave me a massive manual glycerin enema. Worked a treat.

They probably made a porno out of it as well.

Some prunes and a mouthful or two of swimming pool water. 2 days later you will leave the bog.

Ortisan - works gently and doesn't give gripes like Senokot. Available from Waitrose and Holland & Barrett.

I had a similar problem and i was up all night in a lot of pain!
So at 4am I sat down and drank 10 pints of stella by 8.30 I was flowing nicely! BUT DO NOT DRINK IF YOU ARE ON MORPHINE OR BASED DRUGS AS YOU WILL SLEEP AND NOT WAKE UP! Hope your situation improves.

To confirm what has been said before. mrssteveoath (a GP) says to stop taking the opioid drugs if poss. On the plus side a Glycerol suppository will def unblock you.

they say that but its not really true, just dont drink to much, a few cans of cider and some blue Valium go really down really well.

A litre of orange and passionfruit Tropicana worked for me recently. I heard some bubbling and then realised it was time to dash.

Drop an E, have a cup of coffee and a couple of Marlboro lights.
You'll be taking the Browns to the Superbowl within the hour.
Seriously though, hope you're feeling better soon.
