I think I may have to go to Vegas for a conference soon. I don't really want to get dragged into all the craziness but accept that some of that may be unavoidable. So, anyone have any riding tips - mountain or gravel. Or suggestions of other stuff to do.
was a thread about a week ago about that on here I think
if you've a full day (or 2) and a rental car, get down to sedona, prescott or flagstaff. All of them have genuine world-class riding (sedona in particular), in landscapes that are incredible.
And if you don't want to ride, hire a car and drive to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. Both are far more impressive than The Strip.

I went to Bootleg for a day of riding (uplift in afternoon - 38 deg!!) then out to Hoover Dam which is ace and about 10 minutes down the road in the car. Rentals at the bottom of Bootleg that you should book in advance.
check out trailforks there is loads of riding out there few weeks back i did this as a night ride which was great

Also there is load of great trails at cotton wood / blue diamond
https://www.trailforks.com/region/cottonwood-valley/ i easily did 30 miles of riding there not riding the same trial twice
Bootleg is not as good for xc riding as the above - its got more of a DH slant
Watch out for the heat now - i was lucky and had fairly cool temps- but it does get very hot out there
