[#9424309]

I'm off to Las Vegas for work for a couple of weeks tomorrow (I've got a team in Henderson). Forecast is low 40s Celsius with overnight low of high 20s.

Is it worth even thinking of going mountain biking or will I die?

And if it is worth it where should I go?

both sedona and flagstaff have lots of good riding. They're higher than vegas, so a little cooler, but not enough to ride during the day this time of year. Head down there for the weekend and aim to do an early morning ride each day, you'll probably get a couple of hours in before it gets stupid-hot

2hrs away by car are St George and Hurricane, UT.

I've ridden there and some very, very good riding to be found. Great, informative bike shop in Hurricane too.

Red Rock Canyon is under an hour away from the Las Vegas strip and it's spectacular.

I've used [url=

guys[/url] twice for bike hire and they were really good, tell them you want to run it 'moto' when you're booking and they'll swap the brakes over to UK spec for you.

Well I'm here now and coming back in a few days to have a guided MTB ride with a pickup at about 6am.

Yes, it's ferocious at the moment - we saw 45 yesterday.

On to Bryce and Moab then Jackson shortly. Moab is dropping to 30 so shouldn't be a problem.

6am pickup sounds about right! Thanks for the info - I'll see if I'm brave enough when I arrive tomorrow.

and on a serious note, I'm in Salt Lake in August and I'm going to hit the mountains at Park City

Would be interested to know what Park City lift tickets are like in the summer. Winter prices are outrageous now since they merged with Canyons.

Somewhat cheaper than the $130 day pass price in winter then!
