Ok, so after reading the 'Top Speed' thread I thought it might be interesting to organise a bit of fun.

Bacup road seems to be a decent venue, bit rough at the bottom, but steep and straight. A few sideroads though, so the drop to Littleborough from Blackstone Edge might be safer.

Categories for Road & Mtb?

Calibrate speedos beforehand, then off to the pub for tea and medals afterwards.

I'd be willing to run a shuttle as long as I get a go myself!

Could look at the drop through Hardcastle Craggs as an alternative, but it's not ideal.

Graine Road in Bury also viable.

Anyone fancy it?

the other way, bacup to Tod is actually faster and has better line of sight for on coming traffic.

running an unofficial time trial seems a sure fire way to get into trouble or hurt.
