I'm going to the Lakes for a long weekend with my gf, who's just started biking (confident, fit but fairly inexperienced...) so I'm trying to think of a good all-day ride. Something about 20 miles, nice easy ups and nothing too steep on the downs.
I was tempted to go over to Whinlatter but would much prefer something natural and without the crowds. Not decided on location yet (wild camping) but somewhere on the West might be good. Maybe around the Duddon Valley or Langdale? Also heard good things about High Street and that area. I have OS maps and know the Lakes fairly well, but not for biking.
Thanks in advance!
Gareth
PS pictures would be a bonus ๐

I have been there before, it's awesome! Great pic. What route do you follow to get there? Or maybe I should just get the map out and figure something out.

if you click the picture and then click "route" above shot on the Boggies page you can see the route. I have a small addition if you'd like to make it longer. Turn L 150m short of the YH at High Close and follow the grassy path to a gate on Huntingstile for an excellent rocky DH towards Grasmere (it is technical though), then climb the new concessionary BW up Rd Bank to the top of Loughrigg before rejoining the route at the road.
