[Closed] Ladybower Dam - No Cycling?

They used to have "No Cycling" signs at both gates onto the dam. I noticed yesterday that they've been removed.

So it's either thanks to the Water Board for allowing riders to go across, or thanks to some local scroats for ripping them down.

Either way, it's good news for us riders ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes I can now ring my bell with confidence to clear the ramblers from my path when I'm out shredding the gnarrrrrr

Those signs are a suggestion not an instruction.

There could be bylaws but erecting a sign does not make it the law.

Also Severn Trent are eager to promote cycling, though they have restrictions... Take a look through the PDMTB site for more info.

Always hard not to look down the damn and think "That might be fun to ride".

I did that once at Llyn Briane and had a hell of a hard scramble to carry the bike back up... Ouch.

There's a lot of very specific law to dams and 'bunds' - as I found out when trying to route a race course to use the side of some earthworks for our flood alleviation. Basically, 'no' ๐Ÿ™‚
