I wouldn't. Unless it's really, really cheap.

Not very trendy, haven't been since forever (Which is why they generally are cheap). But it's a bike and if you like the way it rides go for it. I'm still kicking myself for not getting one or similar when there were a lot about cheap a couple of years back.

I have an Old Stab (Not a deluxe) generally speaking old kona DH/FR bikes had steeper HAs and Higher BBs than a modern DH bike would they were not made to exacting standard butif you are restricted on budget then they do the job.

Good VFM? All depends, What's the spec and how much does the current owner want?

They were good bikes at the time, they got a lot of stick because Kona wasn't a fashionable brand (probably because you could buy lower end ones in Halfords at the time). Compared to nowadays the Geo won't be super slack and they'll be heavier than newer DH bikes, but probably all most people will ever need in a DH bike. But nothing wrong with them really. Ugly as sin though.

Personally I would probably buy a modern 160 travel Trail/Enduro bike as the geo will be similar with more modern shock/fork and be a shed load lighter/more practical and probably perform better.
