I was going to bite the bullet and get an Inbred 29er when I spotted this, they seem to be selling for as little as £200, which seems like a silly price. Even just for a butted steel 29" frame + Kona P2 forks it seems a bargain.

Anyone got one and upgraded? Pics most welcome!
I've got one, 29er version, use it for commuting. If I was to use it for mtbing I would upgrade the wheels (they are crap) bottom bracket, chainset at the absolute minimum. as a commuter hack with mudguards and rack it is ace.
I thought it was more of a 700cc bike as opposed to a 'proper' MTB 29er?
Looks like a good deal but doubt it'd cope to well offroad (in terms of geometry and strength)
Also if you planning on upgrading i don't think (lookig at the pics) it has disc mounts on the frame or fork.
But as a road commuter looks great.
rutland cycles seems the cheapest too at 200
They're certainly tough enough to ride off road with. However the geometry of the 26" one at least is quite steep (72 degree head angle) so may be worth checking. I have an old 26" wheeled frame, as does my GF, that has been a long distance rough track tourer (totalled about 600miles in that guise), MTB with 100mm forks and front disc, single speed commuter and various other things since I bought it in 2004. It's a bit battered looking, but still completely sound.
I have found that they do ride quite heavily even with an ok build and aren't as nice as most of the other steel frames on the market. I'd say for general messing around on and commuting - great. For more serious MTB - look elsewhere.

It's got a bit more tyre clearance, I'm sure it'd fit some CX type tyres if nothing else.

Ah cheers, just curious really in case it was secretly a Sutra frame or similar in disguise 🙂 Might just man up and get a proper cyclocross as it ticks all the boxes (bridleway type touring/commuting), I've never gone with drops before which is why I'm pondering the safe alternatives.
