Just been to look at a 2012 model today - was a little small (18") but rode lovely. Think I am almost certainly going to have to get me the new 2013 flavour as a result!
Does anyone ride one/know anyone who rides one? Any thoughts? This years build looks very tempting indeed (I was starting to sway towards the Cube Stereo but the Kona has pretty much what I would put on my own bike in the longer term out the box so is a better value option).
Just finished off a bit of commissioned photography work, hopefully sell some other bits and pieces and hopefully that should just about fund a deposit 🙂

I've got a demo 2013 from the local bike shop where I work and I've just come back from a ride around Cheddar Gorge where I live. It's a 19" and rides really nice. It climbs effortlessly compared with a 26"er and covers bumpy climbs with ease. I was well ahead on climbs - heh..heh.. On descents it really perks up and without thinking about it you are dropping faster than you normally would and with much more control. Having shortened the chainstays they've managed to keep the wheelbase shorter than other 29'ers and so it's only about 4" longer than most 26" full sussers so it doesn't feel like a farm gate.
I was sceptical about how good it would be because they don't look anything special compared with Intense etc but I really like it.
They are pricey but I think they are well worth the investment.
