Is £499 a good price for a brand new Kona Dawg supreme frame. Also is the frame good?

That's not the same frame. The Dawg supreme has a kinked top tube and is made of scandium. See link

Yeah, but that one is a year older with no shock and £50 dearer. So £499 doesn't sound too bad, but like you said is the frame a bit long in the tooth now or would it still be a good ride. Seems to get lots of good reviews.

I've got a Kona 2005 and it rides better than many a new bike, depends also how light you build it!

I've a 2007(?) Dawg. It does ride really well, but it is built up heavy (DHX5.0 coil & Pikes, some chunky bits). Coil shocks might be heavy , but the improvement over air feels like the equivalent of about 1 1/2" of rear travel.

I really like mine.

ive got an 08 dawg (the red scandium one) its lush! reasonably light, stiff, good standover handles really well
500 sounds good to me

what other [s]5[/s] 6 inch am frames can you get for that price?

actually is it the 09 is thats 6inches rather than 5?
edit just checked the ebay link yes 6 inches newer lighter/stiffer rocker and modular dropouts 🙂

I've got an '09 Dawg and the build is now equiv to the Supreme, but running Vans. Tough frames, pivot bearings easily sourced but the dropouts are hard to get. I measure the travel at 146mm(ish), so it's fine for most uk-stuff and mild Alpine use. I love my Dawg...

Mine comes in at 28lbs with mostly XT and XTR bits.
I love it- it felt right from day 1, and I use it for everything.

Considering the shock alone is £379, it looks like good very good value to me.
Apparently it's replacement, the Tanuki, doesn't use scandium tubing either.

Nothing really Rick. Being my first full sus, just often wonder if there is better out there at bargain prices. Have pretty good kit so just a frame would be good to swap kit over. Would of liked a Pitch Pro from Bikescene, but no mediums left. The Goose may well be a very good ride, I don't know as I have not ridden anything to compare it too.
I'm just never happy Rick, always want something better 😆

Well get your backside out on a Wednesday and swap bikes about and see what you like. Uplifts last summer were ace for swapping bikes. I've had loads of bikes, but I can't see me swapping the Evo for some years.

I'll add a post to this 5 month old thread. The CRC frame is only straight 'cos the picture is of tiny frame. I bought the last 18" one and it's kinked. Unlike the Supreme it only has RP2 shock but frame is identical. Luckily I have a RP3 to swap in though not sure it needs it.

FANTASTIC bike!
