Is it as good as everyone says it is? Heading down there tomorrow so thought might have a couple of nights on the touring site?

Also, is there a kids play area?

There is a play area and woodland walks, it's nicely landscaped and pitches are more private than most. It's not far into kippford where there are nice walks and two good pubs. Only downsides are the road runs close to the touring pitches and an old showerblock which is 5 mins away from the tent area

If everyone says it is then who's to argue?

Make sure you drop into the Anchor for a beer or two.

There's a nice wee site a bit further along from it at Rockcliffe, a dead end so no passing traffic. Nice (cycleable) coastal path along to the pub in Kippford, stayed there a couple of times, bit of a slope on it for camping but not too bad.

Stopped at the wigwams at Gorsebank farm just up the road at the weekend weather was great and conditions at Dalbeattie were very nice. Kippford is a great little place.

There's a great coastal path too.

Stayed at this one when visiting the stanes and can recommend it. Well kept site with good views over the Solway.
