So I'm off to help kids at the local primary ride bikes safely, responsibly and happily.

Very exciting.

Anybody got experience of such worthwhile time-investment?

I look after the fleet of bikes the school use to teach the kids to ride. (Yes, they give the kids riding lessons). I'm also an assistant leader at my lads Beavers group. No matter how bad the days been, that hour really makes my week. This week...painting the mothers day plaques that we made a few weeks back. Just so satisfying. A few weeks ago they had a great time just playing on the park in the dark, with torches.

If it is any help, I can remember doing it with my buddy - and we were real badass - so much so I think the ROSPA lady banned us (we were clearly too radical ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ).

However, because we were forbidden (correctly labelled as completely hazardous) we made the extra effort to ride our bikes all the time, in-fact almost non stop until we were in our mid-teens and the hormones kicked in.

So, if you want to get the kids really into it - don't be shy with the ban-hammer and be sure to let the badass ones know how bad they really are! ๐Ÿ˜†

Yup...been doing it for 3yrs, did the 4 day tutors course. Been doing Bikeability 3 with one of the towns secondary schools.
Before that I helped with special needs swimming group.
Before that I helped run my kids primary schools swimming club, qualified as an SASA teacher and RLSS instructor. Did that for 16yrs ๐Ÿ˜†
Also help out with local Go-Ride club having got my MBL award......

Hope it's gone well cfinnimore.

I'm a Go-Ride coach at my club, it's really good fun. Great to see the kids progressing. We've had one lad coming for a couple of years now who started when he was 6, always wanting to stop, sit down, start crying, and scared to do stuff. Now when we go to the woods all you hear from him is "can we go down that steep hill, hit that jump?" etc.... He's also pretty good too, so it'll be interesting to see how far he can progress as he gets older.
