Have done a earch and only really found mention of Burley kit so I'm asking again in case there are others out there.
Just spent a few days at Center Parcs at Penrith and took the hardtail down witha borrowed Burley kid trailer. First time in out for the wee one and she loves it - gets excited each time she sees it and seems to like watching things go by as we ride around...she likes it so much that she falls asleep in it so clearly it's comfy enough!
Now having to hand it back but the wife is completely hooked on the idea and wants to buy one ourselves before we head off for a few days this weekend - so I'm looking for recommendations please.
Requirements - hold 1 child centrally but could also take 2 kids.
Folds flat for storage
Hitch attachs to QR - the Burley had a great system but relied on space between seat and chainstay - which my full boucen doesn't have but my Pace does - I'd like to take my full boucner so I can get some riding in on my own as well so the trailer needs to attach to the QR area and be easy enough to attach/swap between bikes
Lightweight - happy to haul child and trailer around but not wanting to carry extra weight of trailer, light enough to lift and move around (in case the wife wants to use it as well)
Tyre size allows spare inner tubes to be bought and probably spare tyres - perhaps a bit chunkier for some offroad use
Offroad-capable - but nothing extreme - double track would be the most extreme I would expect so I'm guessing some form of suspension would be great BUT not a requirement
Cover and viewing window plus storage space in the back
Good turning circle capabilities - Burley was very good and only once did I manage to get the wheel caught on the hitch arm.
Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm not looking to spend a lot but the wife is if it is the right one.
Cheers.
We picked up a Chariot Cougar 2nd hand from the classifieds here. We're really really happy with it. It's the roller of the trailer world it seems. We'd never be able to buy one new but for £200 we're laughing. Good resale value I reckon.
Altohugh it's only a oner, they do twoers in their range. They're modular so can use them as off road buggy, bike trailer, and even a ski pulk.
Attaches via qr, has leaf adjustable suspension etc.
Seconded for Chariot Cougar 2, although it's a bunch of money. Took our twins to nursery each day for almost 3 years. Plus trips out 'n' about. Good bit of kit. Folds down very easily.
I really like the look of the Trek trailers.
