Hey all, has anyone got any good suggestions for a child carrier on a bike? I know you can get those seats that clay onto the back but wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions/experiences. Are these any good... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mobile/MobileModels.aspx?ModelID=64008

Cheers

Welcome to the forum, we're not all miserable bastards.

I use a trailer - for some reason I don't like the idea of a big seat on the back. I'll move to a tag along when she's older.

A few people I know rate the Wee Ride, which is one of those seats that fits onto the toptube...

I have aCroozer trailer . It is brilliant fun and very practical, loads of luggage space.

I use a co-pilot limo mounted on a blackburn luggage rack.. It's very good safety wise in the event of a spill and will carry the rugrat until they are about 4 or 5 years old..

It's a bit of a harsh ride for the little'un over rough stuff so I wouldn't recommend jumps and drops until they're older.. but it's a doddle to use and although it unbalances you like hell at first it only takes an hour or two of riding to get the hang of it..

Do the rear mounted seats work with a top pull front mech? It looks like there would be interference from the bracket around the last cable stop

bobike? I had the front one, then the rear one and finally the one that takes kids upto 45kg (and folds down in to a luggage carrier that hold a crate of beer, how dutch!)

All have been great and are easy to remove and compact. Don't think the front one will fit a MTB though as the bracket fits onto the steerer (unless you ride with a very long steerer I guess).
