Sure it was'nt just some fat yank falling offa chair?
lol...I wondered about that, but that would have taken quite a large person... ๐
Or a fat yank with a huge burger and fries falling offa a chair, when he realises amaerica is a failed state.
Just picking up reports of it on a guitar forum!!!
Lots of guys in the Virginia area reporting it, but felt as far away as New York.
Where are you?
We had it in Toronto, too - side to side shaking of the building. No deaths and no early hometime, unfortunately...

100-year earthquake hits US east coast
By NZ Herald staff and AP Updated 6:32 AM Wednesday Aug 24, 2011 Share34 EmailExpand Co-workers Susan Sproul, left, and Susan Davidson hug after evacuating from their building after an earthquake was felt in Baltimore. Photo / APA magnitude 5.9 earthquake has struck the US state of Virginia, forcing the evacuation of the Pentagon and US Capitol this morning (NZ Time).
The United States Geological Survey reported the quake struck at 1.51pm EST (5.51am NZT) was centred 66km northwest of Richmond and 134km southwest of Washington DC, at a depth of only around 1km.
The quake was the largest to hit the east coast in 100 years and was felt from Toronto to New York.
Reuters reported the Pentagon and Capitol Building in Washington were evacuated, as were courthouses in New York City.
US aviation authorities also evacuated control towers at JFK and Newark airports.
At Reagan National Airport outside Washington, ceiling tiles fell during a few seconds of shaking. Authorities announced it was an earthquake and all flights were put on hold.
The East Coast of America gets earthquakes, but usually smaller ones and is less prepared than California or Alaska for shaking.
Via Twitter, the Washington DC Fire Department said there were reports of damaged buildings, although none were comfirmed at this stage.
The Fire Department said most downtown buildings had been evacuated as a result of the quake - which was felt as far away as Toronto in Canada - however there no reports of injuries.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami was not expected as a result of the quake, although in coastal areas of intense shaking locally generated tsunamis can be triggered by underwater landslides.

lol...I wondered about that, but that would have taken quite a large person...
In my old office there was a larger lady and you could feel her walking towards you a mile away as the floor would bounce up and down, only did it with that person, the new office seems to have stronger floors!

I was in the US yesterday (NJ) and felt the earthquake. It seemed to keep the rolling news going for hours - however it was very much a mildly entertaining non event
