Hi all, I am planning on doing the JMW in one day sometime in August between 16th and 20th.

Done in two before, fancy having a go in one.

Anyone fancy joining in?

Not sure if I can make those dates but interested to do it. How was it over 2 days? And what bike setup did you use?

2 days was really enjoyable, wind direction helps as the prevailing wind is west to east which is the direction I rode.

Did it on a fully rigid 29er with a hub gear and pre-gravel gravel tyres, flat bars with ergon bar ends and grips.

None of it is technical or requiring an MTB it’s hybrid/gravel heaven.

Done it in a day about 3/4 years back. Its not to bad unless the last train back from Dunbar is delayed and you have to phone your mate to rescue you. And then sit on the last train out of Edinburgh with a load of pished people from the fringe festival 🙄

Not wanting to highjack, but what are folks thoughts on the “alternative routes” that on the on the official maps? Eg The stretch to Balloch would be a lot more interesting to start with, but the ones I looked at all seem to add miles and likely be slower? Might make a 1-day ride a lot more painful

I'd be up for that, did Strathblane to North Berwick and back in a day last year and I've done the Strathblane to Helensburgh bit a few times, but I've never done the whole thing...
