Looking for some advice or feedback on owners of Jeffsy's. I'm fairly well settled on buying one and my budget of £3k fits nicely with the CF ONE. My main dilemma is wheel size. It'll be ridden in the Peak, outskirts of Sheffield (think Houndkirk, Totley area) plus occasional trip to the Alps (one week planned this summer) and maybe trail centre and uplift days in Wales.
I'm erring towards the 29'er but could do with some real world experience.
I can't help you out but there's a YT demo day coming up a sherwood pines in May if you can hold on a bit. There are a few others across the country too.
A pal has the 29er, loves it (99% ridden in the Tweed Valley).
Only thing is that he did get the cheapest one (sub £2k) and it's already lurched the drivetrain and BB - in 3 months, of abet hard riding, but that's probably only 20 rides.
I too am considering the same thing.
Points Ive considered are:
What is the bike going to be used for, well for me its XC and a bit of easy trail riding - so 29 might suit that better. Covers ground faster / easier.
Will it be nimble and fast to change direction, bring up to speed - well I dont know. Other 29'ers Ive ridden were ever so slightly slow at that. But once wound up to speed they carried it well.
I have a Capra already which is 27.5 in size, so perhaps a 27.5 Jeffsy would be too similar. I need my 2nd bike to be different.
YT are doing Demos at the Forest of Dean and Swinley soon, so I'm off there to try them out back to back.
Cheers all, didn't realise there were demo days on the way, Sherwood isn't that far from me so would like to ride them back to back. Might just hang on until then.
