[Closed] Ival insurance

So got back home today to find my shed doors hanging off and my pride and joy gone. Police informed and phone insurers who confirmed I am insured to the value of £2500 but will be contacted by ival in the next couple of days. Now my bike was lovingly put together as a mix of new and old parts rather than off the shelf. Any idea of how I need to deal with this company to ensure I don't get done over and also pushed towards a bike that I don't want (preference is to get hold of a used frame and build from there or go Canyon)?
