Just arrived today, 26" 853 frame in medium £350 ish....5 1/2 lbs???? 😯
my 29er scandal only weighs just under 4lbs on the same scales. It seems a bit weighty to me, don't know what to do now.
My 16in 853 Inbred frame is about 4lb 12oz, and a similar Merlin Rock Lobster 1/2 LB lighter than that
What frame are you talking about, and in what size??
My 853 Inbred was around the 5lb mark - if you wanted light then steel isn't the way to go. Even the best steel frames tend to be 4 to 4.5lbs. And I think only Scapin get under 4lb and they're mega money.
Is it a Pipedream by any chance?
build it, ride it enjoy it..
STOP weighing it .lol
don't know what to do now.
Build it and ride and not worry about silly things like how much it weighs?
Dang. Just beaten to it...
Seems a bit heavy, but whats it designed for? Longish forks?

My P20 frame 3lb 6ish 8)
Charge duster i had weighed nearly double the zaskar it replaced..
It rode better on all round trail rides than the zaskar so i soon forgot.
Just ride it +1
I love my "heavy" Inbred now, despite the total build being a lot heavier than I had before.
Kingtut wins the free bag of sweets! 😉
KINGTUT - MemberIs it a Pipedream by any chance?
I'm guessing it's a Prince Albert?
d'oh, Kingtut confirmed as winner while I was reading / posting
Alot of these CEN compliant steel frames seem to have put on a bit of weight.

And the word Inbred in two of my posts above 🙄
