seems very good value, highlights are:
recon fork
X7 gears
avid elixir 3 brakes

Seems a much better package than anyone else offer at this price point?

definitely a contender at that price point, if you wanted slightly more travel then can't really go wrong with carerra fury from halfords

The boardman equivalent is on sale at £600 now, from £850 "RRP".

The Boardman is 5lbs lighter, with similar spec, but a carbon rigid fork which is nice to see on an entry bike IMO. Im sure the recons are fine. But at least boardman hasnt gone for some heavy clunky suntour offering to hit a price point.

I don't know a lot about the market but that does look like a decent spec.

The board man with carbon forks is very nice too, saw one in store the other day, was surprised how good a finish it had, the fork also looked very well made and finished.

Raindog posted up here a couple of weeks ago saying his mate had bought one, took it round Llandegla and the only criticism he had was rubbish tyres.
