Reeksy 1 & 2 (12yo) had an epic today at our first enduro. Nearly didn't happen as he was sick Friday and Saturday. Woke him at 5.45 and got the nod.

It was uncomfortably hot and humid but we had a blast together.

First track I dropped my chain and got overtaken by him.

Second was a pedal fest.

Third was good and fast.

Repeated the first and it got cut short as a tree came down across the track and a chainsaw was needed...had to do it a third time.

I came second in the U13s, first in the over 60s and mid pack (16th) in the 40+ group 😀

The lad got a mid pack place, but in the U15s due to the age cut off. He did really well, beating some of the race team kids he looks up to. He'll be smashing me in a year.

No riding for us this weekend as we took a drive down to Newcastle to watch the final round of the FIM Super Enduro Championship.
A great night with some great racing and both Prestige and junior classes being won on the night and overall by British riders.
Billy Bolt taking the Prestige and Ashton Brightmore the Juniors.

I got out for a very chilled cruise out to the bottom of Mount Keen and back on Friday. The weather was perfect.
Easy turbo session today as I had a few too many glasses of wine last night.

In lieu of the postponed Gorrick XC race and therefore making for a good practise session for kit, Jnr and I race each other around Hadleigh for 4 laps, 1:13/1:15 respective.  Bloody place is Brutal at race pace….

FoD was still a little bit snowy and unsurprisingly filthy. 4 hours of that has left me quite tired and hoping for some drier weather! Still great to be out in the sunshine.

Likely to be at least a 'double bucketer' before risking the washing machine!

took a ride from Oxenhope back to Rossendale over pennine bridleway. Some stiff climbs, but a gorgeous day for it.

No pics (I've taken enough south Pennines, with bike, precious little gnar shots).....
but had a lovely wee ride in what looked and sounded a bit like spring - curlews, peewits and golden plover on the moor!

Didn't get out Friday night, but got the usual Sunday local loop in. Still slightly damp in the woods...

Had a great day at Caersws Bike Park on the DH bikes with my lad and his mates.

Snowing at the top, sleet and rain lower, the tracks were basically 3 inches deep of peanut butter.

Did a couple of biggish days around Minehead.

First day lots of trails in the woods south of Minehead - over 1500m of ascent/descent. Some bloody good trails, and I'll defo be back when it's dried off

Second day we did a loop over to Porlock, up a (never ending!) combe, and round and over Dunkery Beacon.

The first 12km had nearly 750m of climbing!

Trails were filthy....but maybe not as filthy as I was expecting....around Leeds.

So, gravel bike up the Washburn valley for mudguard enjoyment

Mrs a11y working so it was a full-on kids/dad weekend. Loved it. First visit to Carron Valley MTB trails for them and my first time back there in a decade or so: perfect level of tech for them, being a step up from Callendar Estates and handily less than half the distance/drive to Glentress. Two laps = 18km and 380m elevation, fuelled by Haribo and hot chocolate. We'll be back.

Nice job Reeksy, give him a big cake!

The food van had left by the time we finished so he got a kangaroo sandwich and some chips... Then dinner out at a Thai restaurant when we got home 😋

Monday is the new Sunday.
Mrsstu has the week off so we got off to a good start with a ride.
A mix of hand cut and TC. 1000 meters so this one counts as a ride.
