I'm planning on giving my Pikes a good service (ooh err missus) and was wondering what oils to use?
I need 5wt and 15wt oils, and to be honest I can't see there being a great difference between expensive and cheap brands, but was wondering what the STW community thinks??

Also, which way should I plug in my speak cables.....? 😉

You need decent fully synthetic oil IMO

Cheap oils often have an additive in that swell up fork seals, causing poor performance due to excess friction.

Besides, buy it per litre from a Motorbike spares shop, and decent fully synthetic oil from the likes of Silkolene, Putoline, Shell, Rock Oil etc. (to name but 4) is only about £7 per litre anyway. Buy it from a mountain bike shop, it'll be 2 or 3 times the price!

Can I get fully organic, filtered by vegans, fork oil (where from every pound I spend, 20p goes to building multi storey toilets in a Romanian orphanage)?
