March 8th marks International Women's Day, and this year’s theme, Accelerate Action feels pretty fitting for mountain biking, don’t you think?
At Singletrack, we know the women in our MTB community are out there pushing limits every day—not just once a year. But IWD is a great chance to shine a spotlight on the riders, trail builders, mechanics, and all-around legends who help make this sport what it is.
We want to feature your favourite moments on our social media! Whether it's a photo or video of yourself riding, a friend absolutely sending it, or a shoutout to someone making a difference in MTB, drop it in the thread.
How to submit:
- Post your best photos or videos of yourself or an awesome woman you want to celebrate.
- Give them a shoutout—what makes them rad?
- Deadline: 12pm on Wednesday 5th March – we’ll share submissions on our socials on March 8th.
- If you want to be credited, add your Instagram handle.
Permissions & Uploading:
- Make sure you have permission to share any media featuring other people.
- By posting, you're happy for us to share it on Singletrack’s social media.
- Full members can upload media directly. If you can't, you can share a link to a hosting site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
Post them below, and let’s fill this thread with the women accelerating action in the MTB world!
Are we posting them on this thread
Yes please!
I got into mtbing back in 1987 as a teenager. Rode my Marin Bear Valley everywhere. First ride with it was out and back over Cut Gate. Still one of my favorite rides.
Got married. Had a family and still managed to get out regularly.
Biggest change for me was going to Verbier in 2003 as a family and after that the bug went into overdrive.
As a family the girls just got it and still do. More about fun than rad.
Girls are grown up now but still get out on the bikes and into the hills on a regular basis.
Youngest, after racing Enduro for some time, is living her dream. Currently working in Rotoura NZ, riding her bike every day.
I'm so proud of them and what they have achieved.
This year will see a big change for us as circumstances means we are stepping back from work and hitting the trails even more. In the UK, Europe and further afield.
Can't wait to see what's next
It's always good to be out in the hills
Dang! Just seen this, sat in San Jose del Cabo (Mexico) airport about to start our journey home. Does spending the last 7 weeks riding fully laden fatbikes down the rufty tufty Baja Divide with my wife count? As a (hopefully) springboard to hopefully a summer’s continued enduro and park riding? Can’t post any pics, gotta go board our flight!
@tracey, always love that first photo!
I’ll nominate ahsat (my wife). Having my soulmate alongside me on rides is just the best!
I’ll also nominate Emma from Reyt Good, don’t have a pic, but they were featured in stw awhile back. Built a brilliant community for female riders in West Yorkshire.
In terms of professional riders T Mo! Embodies what being an inspiring rider is.
i realise I missed the 5th March deadline btw
@P20. Thanks, at the time we never realised that our first family visit to the Alps and in particular Bike Verbier would have such an impact on our lives.
The places we have ridden, the friends we have made, the laughter and the tears. But most of all the fun we have all had together on and off the bikes.
