Hi all
Got the chance of a week on mid June and looking at going to northern Spain to do some bikepacking, perhaps starting in San Sebastián.
just wondering if anyone can recommend and big loops round there? Maybe 5/6days riding around 40 ish miles a day?
Found the Vuelta De Vasco route on Bikepacking.com, which looks great but will probably take longer than 5 removed link
Any ideas would be helpful. Ta

Wikiloc definitely handy over here. I dunno what kind of bike you'll be on, this is a road tour (if the link works)
I'd do something like that, following his route west from San Sebastian but staying on the coast thru Lekeitio into Urdaibai national park around the headland past Laga and Laida beaches, Isla, then pick up the route again by heading thru Mondragon, Oñati, etc. I think that's worth the detour and I wouldn't bother with Vitoria. Azpeitia to San Sebastián won't take long so you could add another chunk of riding by taking the Via Verde Leitzaran from Andoain (dismantled mineral railway, lights needed for the tunnels) as far up as Leitza, then back down to San Sebastian via the next valley over which goes through Goizueta. Or continuing and taking the next valley over returning via Bera (another dismantled railway).
That's just basically sticking to my regular roads - I can knock up a GPX when I get time if you want.
Alternately use the Trans Pirinaica route to get into the Navarra Pyrenees and coming back through Pamplona, Lekunberri.

Cam here to say iberico norte, could easily be shortened. Not sure I'd want to go much further south in mid June.

I walked there a couple of years ago, it was bloody lovely. Great restaurants for epic feeds, nice climate. Beautiful scenery and not too busy
