Conflicting info on that, the ladies signing us up said there was no 4 hour limit, Rich reckons there is. It's on the website but I'm not sure it's going to be enforced.

Was there with rich today. Timed us going round and it was 2hrs45min and that was spinning or walking all the climbs, taking it super easy. Can't see any way it would ever take 4 hrs.

There is no time limit, you just have to finish the last stage by 1530, regardless of when you start.

I rode it today 😯

Stage 2 is long and pretty brutal, tests most aspects of riding. Looking forward to some testing moments tomorrow!

Do it with my mate  I thought he might just pass away and we only did the climb twice.

Thoroughly enjoyed both days riding. I got a rubbish time of 26:32 but was 2m slower than SAturday on stage 2, for which I blame my hard partying lifestyle.

Was happy to get pwned, Stormtrooper'd up and everything, by a few blokes in lycra on hardtails. Respect!

Looking forward to seeing where I finish, thanks to Steve and the organisers, great event.

What a brilliant day... I blew it a bit, had an absolute howler on the second stage so ended up very low down, ah well. Still not unhappy but should have done better. But it doesn't seem to matter, still had an absolute blast. And I don't think I saw a single unhappy face.

Full marks to all involved, more of this sort of thing! Absolutely brilliant.

A laggardly 27.57 here. Was riding OK but crashed on the last rock section in plora craig on stage 2, had to soft pedal the rest with a cob on. Perked up once I'd climbed back up for stage 3, which was the best stage for me.

Overall a great event, would like to do one again.

26:51 here. Race HT with SIDs was interesting, loved every second of it though. Only had one crash, on the uphill rocks at the end of Plora Craig, went straight over the bars on the second rise.

Brilliant atmosphere, as NW said everyone was smiling, had loads of chat with a whole gamut of folks.

Anyone get the top 5? Saw CCA killing it on stage 1, but had Shirley as the man for the win.

Dougal, Gary forrest, CCA, Stu Nicholson, Keith Buchan were all there or there abouts.

26:48 here, had a mare on the first stage, second was going well till a guy went OTB on that rocky corner just after the start of the really steep bit near the end. His bike blocked the trail an had to walk around the blockage. By stage 3 I was burst and all over the shop, happy to get down in one piece TBH. And what about that wee stinking climb right near the bottom of stage 3? Killer!

Really enjoyed it though, conmplating shelling the £60 for the Gravity Enduro races now. Well done the organisers, great job. (if i was pushed on one subject to moan about it'd be the timing dibber guy at the end of stage2, all the others seemed hppy to move about, make themselves visible and generally help you with the dib thing. He stood there like a statue listening to his music while i fumbled with gloved hands, sleeves etc)

That was awesome. A disappointing 25.44 here - first stage was a nightmare for me. I want to do more though.

Don't feel bad, you all kicked my arse! 35 mins here courtesy of some very mincy descending, multiple chain drops, and I actually had to stop for a bit on stage 3. Couldn't feel my fingers. Awesome fun though.

Great event, well organised, dibber system worked well, stage 2 guy was just telling everyone to dib in on the post I think, it was said before the event to everyone at registration that you either dib an the post or head to a guy who will dib you in, simples. Although its probably not the most accurate system, I really think the seconds difference between dibbing speed meant nowt to 99% of the riders, smiles all wrong from what I saw. And at the end of the day its the same system for everyone, I'd even argue its best to just have a post with the thing stuck to it alone, that way no complaints about speed of marshall dibbing?

MORE PLEASE TWAS MINT!

Funny how you read some stories and realise you were chatting to that person - Garry at the burger van at the end!!

Great event with great trails. Bit disapointed with the time, should be happy I never messed it up but fitness and more talent would've shaved a fair bit more time off.

Think I'm the opposite to everyone else - I loved stage 1 and the fitness kind of spoiled the rest.

Great event with a challenging course. Think the last stage was my favourite. Came 21st with a time of 28.18 in the vets, no crashes or mechanical issues, just un-fit and scared of having an off!

i went.
It was cracking, stage 1 was ace fun, a good decent (hope to see that 1st bit in the xc time trial this year!)
Start of stage 2 i was all over the shop. lumpy slow riding. a wee crash on plora craig rocks meant some time lost. but i got it together and had fun on the loamy steep stuff :D.
Stage 3 was good, old dh tracks are all good fun, plenty rideable on most bikes. and the last section (after the short climb) was super steep drifty fun!

23.30. but i should have been quicker. still can't complain after a few months off the bike!

Spot on Wenanwhere, the briefing said the same, dibbers on posts. David at stage 1 was doing it different because there's 3 exits from the quarry, and no handy post but the other 2 were doing the job they're supposed to. All very well done I thought, good marshalling all round. Think they could have done with more but then, what event couldn't?

Rockplough, think I spoke to you at the end about being overtaken by your big orange monster truck at 10UTB? Join me in the slow crowd. I'm going to say "30 minutes" because "30 minutes 59" is still 30 minutes right?

Great event, big thanks to everyone involved. Nice chilled vibe - until you dibbed your dibber that is 😉
Good mix of riding, stages were really varied and the climb to the top wasn't that bad.
Got a flat on the last stage and just missed out on a top 20 but didn't take the fun out of it.
Heard a rumour about iCycles putting some more of these on, certainly hope so.

Oh, that was another thing I kept hearing, "I'd not have ridden it if I knew it was DH trails, but they were great"- people who think "I don't do DH" were out and having a blast on trails they'd never even have considered before just because of the name. How cool is that?

what a top day out! 31.09 in the vets keep me off the bottom of the table (just) but in the end i wasn't really that interested in the time as was more interested in trying to stay on board the bike and keep it together and avoid crashing etc. Some excellent challenging riding and a very slick operation by the the organisers and marshalls- well done there! 😀 Can we have some more please? What about a mid-week summer series? Make the use of the long evenings.

Aye that was me. Nice to meet you. Yeah drop the seconds, that's what I did. 🙂

I can see trips to Inners being spiced up with those DH runs from now on instead of just the Traquair.

Very cool. I've never ridden "DH" trails before and I wouldn't mind going back for an uplift day now.

Glad to hear you all enjoyed it !

Big thanks to everybody who was involved, the marshals esp for a fantastic job, it was well cold out there, and we couldn't run these events without you.

Always good to get feedback, email us at info@innerleithenmtbracing.com we will take any feedback forward to future events.

This was event 1 of a series, Mini DH on 13th Feb and Mountain TT (Alistair Lees Memorial TT) on 13th March. Hope to see some of you back again.

Ok, so that was one minor moan and now the difference between stage 1 and 2 dibs station has been highlighted to me I fully accpt i was being a moaning minny for nothing! Hats off to all involved, especially the marshalls. All of them. My name will be going down if any more are in the pipeline. But hopefully I'll be fitter then(though this is doubtful)

I googled Ian Linton for the website, hoping not to find it so I could say "do you have a link please?".

However it was easy to find:

EDIT...and has the same pics from the earlier link/review.

Anybody up for the 2nd race of the series? a pushup/mini downhill? Planning on making it as much fun as the enduro. Its a great way to try a downhill event with out being a big downhill event, if you see what I mean?

Oh, Ian got back to me with a nice pic looking like I know how to ride a bike, worth contacting him, he says he doesn't have that many shots but can't hurt.

Half thinking about the DH event, I'm torn between doing dirtschool that day or the race. Having said that, pushing up is for poor people
