Am I asking for trouble using superlight innertubes (Bontrager SL 700/23) for the cross? Punctured today in the London League and wondered if it was because the tubes are just a bit too thin and getting too stretched to fit the tyres. When I took the tube out it was ripped around the valve hole, but that could have been due to riding a lap on a flat.

cross tyres are normally 32 or 35c so a 23c tube is pushing it a bit, it will work but won't be that reliable, use tubes that go to 35c or what ever, continental do cross specific tubes, so I guess others do as well.

130g for an inner tube isn't that bad!
