Looking at 135mm spaced - none of this silly boost/boost plus stuff 🙂

I would default to Hope but thought I would ask.

Any suggestions?

SRAM X7 - not as light as a hope but they were £35 from one of the online shops in Germany

inexpensive and reliable has to be shimano don't it? Not that I like them personally but value for money is good and reliability high

For inexpensive then SLX. Good old cup and cone 1/4" bearings, strip, fill with grease and properly adjust before you start and you're good to go! £40 rrp, with a decent skewer included. Add a centrelock adaptor/rotor and you're still pretty cheap.

Shimano every time.

Add a quick blob of good grease and check the cones for tightness/adjustment BEFORE USE and they last forever. Plus they cost buttons to service.

Yep, can't look past Shimano.

Deore / SLX / XT depending on budget

I've had a few formula based wheelsets that have caused me no trouble.

The best hubs are DT Swiss. The 350 is a bit over £100 though, so not super cheap. Cheaper and better than Hope though.

Worth buying above Deore, the seals are way better.

Are all Shimano hubs still loose bearings?

Cheers. Got some Zee/XT wheels coming for my 26+ adventure. Must remember to strip and pack before use then...

Only ever used cartridge bearing hubs before.

Metaphorical adventure rather than physical.

Just going to try 26+ in my 650b Rocket...
