...three spacers to make it 68mm so I have fitted two on the drive side and the other on the non-drive side. Correct?

yup, although all they do is modify the chainline, so you can stick em where you like in theory.
eg. on my hemlock, it works better with none on driveside and one on non-driveside (73 shell), which is opposite to the fitting instructions.
