Oh yes, the worlds greatest New forest based mountain bike event is back! We have a new pump track, a gravity track and some secret northshore in the wiggly woods!

Having tried sunshinne the first year and rain for the second we have decided to go for sunshine again this year so bring sun cream please.

Please buy tickets soon as we need your money to pay for marquees and toilets etc.

All for charity - trade enquiries welcome

"Gravity Track" in the New Forest? LOL

I've spent many years riding around the forest, and it's flat as a pancake!

Looks like a fun weekend though - a mate went the other year with his family, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was completed yesterday and needs to be left to bed in for a while but should be perfect by the BBB in August

It's a few days before Mrs Grips is due. Will there be childbirth facilities on-site?

(Fantastic work on the trail building btw! I'm amazed that you got that done.. presumably it's for the use of that youth centre mainly...)

I understand the lake jumpis quite good for inducing labour and that is normally the last event on Sunday so gets a good crowd.

PS It might be worth buying a childs ticket anyway just in case she is early, they are only a penny. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Will the pump track be open to the public outside of this event? (Once bedded in) I live a short distance down the road so it could be fun for a play.

Brick - Yes but please leave it for a month from now to visit. It literally was just finished yesterday and if you go sinking tyre tracks into it while it is settling / hardening then Louis will be very cross with you.

Your website's ticket page is out of date slightly - states: "Please select the age as at 23rd August 2009."
Might come down here for our annual summer NF weekend.

nbt - You can bring your caravan but you will need to book that with Avon Tyrrell directly as there are limited spaces and they control that bit. Camping included in the ticket price. Log cabins with cookers, toilets and showers need to be booked direct with Avon Tyrrell too.

The phrases "pump track" and "gravity track" mean nothing to me, but from the looks of things, they are both different ways of saying "long BMX track".

Am I right?

Unfortunatly the BBB this year clashes with the BBD race , which i have already signed up for .
Might try and make it over on the Sunday for the day though.

Once again, fair play. It seems like only yesterday you asked about how to build a pump track. Seriously well done.

...trouble is, you always put this event in the middle of my summer holiday!

Jedi - It is the weekend of August 21st and 22nd this year although you can turn up on the Friday if you want to.

If you fancy mixing a bit of business and pleasure you could do a tips and tricks session. There is a bit of baby-shore being built to complement the new tracks so you would have somewhere to show off.

Email me and we can discuss this off the forum if you fancy coming

TJ - I can assure you that you will win a prize if you come (with or without the tandem).

We normally have 3 race categories:

Race whippets for people who care about racing
1 lap and 2 laps for everyone else who is only really racing their mates anyway.

It is the weekend before the bank holiday.

It is the same weekend as Bournemouth International Air-show so you get to see all the old planes too. We had a formation fly past by the red arrows at the start of the prize giving the first year.

ooh. I quite fancy this for our annual trip "somewhere" (where our wives set us free for one weekend a year)

what is the beer/ bike ratio? Should I bring 6 inches or 0 inches ? Is it -er - any good??

Dancake - Events such as pint to pint racing allow you to combine beer and bikes. Malt loaf eating doesn't include either bikes or beer.

In terms of what to bring, 6 inches is fine, 0 is fine too, wife is fine too. There is nothing too challenging in terms of big rocks or drops so if you are only bringing the 1 bike I would go for less that a 6 inch downhiller.

I normally take my XC bike and SS and this year will be bringing my jump bike too. Having said that I rarely get to ride so most the time they are lent out to other people.

TJ - You can stay at the camp site for longer. Last year a few families cam down for a week or a fortnight with the BBB at the start or end of the holiday. You will have to pay for the extra days directly with Avon Tyrrell but they are cheaper than most camp sites and you get full use of the trails and other facilities.

If you fly down from Scotland to Southampton I can lend you some bikes while your down.
