GRF, sorry i am not looking for a ban, i do honestly want to know why one thread got pulled and another did not.

I am genuinely concerned about editorial independence, there is no point in any mag running any "tests" if the editorial is actually advertorial.

The facts are you came on to what is actually a cycling forum, it isn't really an MTB forum in any real practical sense, and claimed to have assaulted cyclists, what sort of response were you expecting to get? Look at the response James Martin got for his piece about testing a Tesla, and that was in the Mail FFS!

IF i get held up by someone driving a ridiculously large truck towing a boat, why worry about it, such is life. If i come up behind some cyclists i wait till it is safe, if they filter past me at lights such is life.

Bike magazines are not investigative journalist trying to keep the world free.

I hope they do pay attention to who pays the bills.

Hah you come across as a bit 'disturbed' chum, you get the piss taken out of you on a forum and you want to do what exactly? Get me fired? You've really no idea

I think he wanted to make the organisations you represent aware of your views and how you treat the community. they cant get you fired but your own view may.
And really you think he is disturbed at worst he seems to dislike you for your views.
I hope they do pay attention to who pays the bills

The people who buy the magazine? How can you have no objection to a mag saying x is great just for money [ advertising space].

Hang on, this is an MTB forum. Its called singletrackworld and if the powers that be want it to be a generic cycling forum then I suggest they change the name.

I don't read conclusions. They're not me so they mean nothing. Magazines are just entertainment. If a 4x4 boat lover wants to pay the journos to go ride somewhere interesting so they have something interesting to say then that's fine by me.

The incident did occurr, and I did sound the horn and the pink clad one did jump and he did get out of the way, but then he was in the wrong as a lot of road cycling bikers often are. If he hadn't gotten out of the way he could have been caught be the trailer, so it was as much a mercy action (should have been a mercy kiling ;-)) as a malevolent one

Two abreast is not illegal though.
Perhaps you need a few lessons on how to drive with a trailer if you can't overtake safely.
And anyway why does it matter? It would be a foolish man who would deny himself a product simply because he doesn't 'like' the purveyor, Bill Gates can testify to that.

The Ryanair dude might be a better example as most don't really get a choice with the Gates fella.

I imagine the thread got pulled after I put the Gay shots up, disproving the homophobia thing, it wouldn't 'do' to find I'm not the evil b'stard portrayed thus far.

Everyone knows gay people dont ride bikes, but theres probably a lot who are surfers.........

Yep, homosexuality is a pre requisite in professional windsurfing too.

Tight rubber, speedos, and a big nappy on their bum, typical windsurfer.

Why don't you just shut up and give me one of those transition tr250s and then I'll be your friend?
Pretty cheap, I'm a good friend (no bumming though)

Most windsurfers are Gay - that's true, I tell them often enough and I should know.

Careful GRF
Is Boards forum offline so you bring you very own whiney trolls over here?
You have a big truck, woo hoo wannabe Chris Eubank . I am in my big red truck and you better not get in my way . What are you going to do? Ram cyclists from behind because you need to get to Whitstable with a boat ? Should have got up earlier and delivered your dingy when the roads were empty and gone windsurfing in the afternoon , might have put you in a better frame of mind .

Oh my word! As an 'industry-er' I've not always got on with every member of this forum but I'm struggling to come to terms with what GRF is hoping to acheive here. . .

This has to be a wind up. Surely someone has hacked into Graham at Surf Sales account? Or set up a fake account pretending to be him?

Gerald Ratner misunderstood the negative impact of a business leader making derogatory comments, claiming it was a joke...

that was my worry. He has implied who is but not said so directly. It seems so unlikely that anyone with a 30 year old business would wind everyone up using their real name. If this really is the md me surf sales then i hope it all comes back to cause you grief. I also note that if you had a thick skin then you wouldn't have been wound up in the first place.

Oi, back off Backhander. I've called dibs on a Covert. Don't need none of that fancy DH bike nonsense I'm gonna put on my best pink lycra and SPDs and smash it down the local trail centre...

Look at the pictorial evidence;

Option A; Someone who dresses like this can't possible be serious when they take the piss out of people using SPD's and wearing lycra. It must be a wind up.

Option B; He's old. Really old. Dementias kicking in, he's a bit confused, certainly somethings not right in his head. I guess we should feel pity?

GRF let me tell you a story about a rep who thought a lot of himself.

A story about my brother in law and a rep, the rep, late middle age, had been to a business lunch. He had a few to drink. thought he would be fine to drive home.

My BiL happened to be cycling to work got hit from behind, his leg was dragged up into the front wheel arch and shattered. His back was broken, obviously major skin loss, blood loss, the sort of things you expect. Anyway the driver decided he was important and couldn't stop, so carried on driving. he did stop when he crashed into a lamp post. in all the BiL was dragged a couple of hundred metres.

It transpires that the driver had been convicted previously of drink driving and has been convicted since.

The BiL survived, i think it was 6 months in hospital in the end, he lost his leg, and 9 years later is back in hospital to have another chunk taken off his leg as it has become infected. He has a faulty lymph system due to the extensive damage which is partly why the leg is being chopped again.

At the end of the day you are a glorified rep, your job is to act as an ambassador for the brands you sell, and your come across as a cock.

Yes the roadies might have pissed you off, but keep your mouth shut about it on a cycling forum surely that is common sense. Coming onto a cycling forum saying i drive like a cock is hardly going to do you any favours.

If you want to come on here and have a troll fine, but pick the subject.

Well there goes perspective.
Yeti, I'm sure that we can both be good friends with Graeme (and get our bikes). We can offer different aspects of friendship; I can offer manly mateyness, go for beers to strip clubs and you can offer bumming. Fair?

Graeme - you're trying just a bit too hard now. And you're not actually that funny. Well maybe you find it amusing. I do hope so, because otherwise it all seems rather pointless.

GRF you really are a cock aren't you, everything you say and do.

Head of customer relations, i don't even know what to say.... i didn't call you a sales man i said rep, ie company representative. What is customer services other than a rep role and your doing a sterling job of presenting your company in a good light.

well we certainly get a cross section of society on here and he does seem very cross.
I am sick of reading on a bike forum about bikers in car disrespecting/ endangering cyclists.

I need a corporate sponsor for a world record attempt next year, aquatic in nature. It'll get a fair amount of publicity (incurable rare cancer man in valliant WR attempt blah blah...) and i genuinely don't give a shit how you conduct yourself here or anywhere else for that matter; I just care about curing sarcoma.

Interested?
