I know it's personal but just built up a bike with 9spd SLX and XT and it's light, fast and precise.

Been using X9 for ages and going back to Shimano is a revalation.

Sram stuff does seem a bit more agricultural on the whole but does work well.

Are you comparing new shimano stuff to worn out sram?

I just spent a week riding in Fuerteventura on a well maintained Scott Scale 80 with Deore and SLX. I was out last night for the first time since I got back on my Hardrock which has lowly SRAM X3, I was amazed how much smoother it was despite the mud and slop.

SRAM? Agricultural?!??!
Glass slipper delicate more like…
Most of their mechs normally develop play within a couple of rides don’t they?

Shimano stuff is more durable… FACT!!!

Shimano, Mavic, and Rockshox are the three brands i'm loyal to and have been for nearly 15 years.

Do Sram not own Rock Shox?

Yes but you can’t change gear with a set of Rebas…
