[#3113773]

I am one of those idiots who likes to wear his GoPro on the trails.
Unfortunately sometimes it makes me ride quicker then I should.
I crashed today but I think I may have gotten away with it!!
Please don't insult me as I'm in lots of pain at the moment.

I was watching that, kind of half flinching waiting for you to crash! Disappointed there was no 'yelp' as you stacked it though! Nice riding up until the crash, where is it?

Yeah is it wrong I skipped to the end to see the crash!? Good video though, I must say I'm impressed with how camera footage has come on so much in a short space of time. Tempted to get one!

Ouch! Do you find the Go Pro and Garmin encourage you to go faster every time? My Garmin does that to me, and I can only imagine that if I had a camera strapped to me I would be even worse! Hope you're okay, looks like you landed a bit hard on your elbows.

Where is that, by the way? Looks like a fun trail?

Was that backing track the pulse in your head?

I had a similar off today, although a comedy slow-mo version. The way you've shot it is nice - it looks like a Wii game. Get well soon.

Cheers guys.
That trail is Windy Point at Whites Level, Afan.
I find my GoPro makes me ride faster than I should.
Its like having an audience strapped to your chest..
I think I knew I was going to hit that tree and dived off.
Afan is my regular trail and by that I mean that I ride it at least once per week.
I never expected to crash there cause I know it like the back of my hand.

Ouch. Glad you're ok mate! Where do you actually put your camera? On your belt?

The GoPro has a chest harness that it attaches to.
I think it gives the best point of view.
Unfortunately it does produce a knocking noise that you can hear in the video.

Bike is fine.
As you know I ride a RIP 9.
My summer combo which I'm still running is a Bonti 29-4 front and a 29-3 TLR rear.
@ RagTi cheers mate but I don't plan to make any more crash videos 😆

Respect! - I don't ride fast enough to fall off like that. Hope you're not too sore.

Glad you survived without undue broken/damaged parts. That looks like a very fast (and fun) trail---reminds me of a couple portions of the Taos South Boundary Trail here in New Mexico/USA. You can get going faster than you realize and one moment's lapse of focus/attention and those bike-magnet trees can suck you right in.
What was the distance of the portion you recorded

Haha another one bites the dust!

Glad you're ok, I managed to crash twice at Afan on Saturday, one into a felled tree and an OTB incident, after making sure a guy was ok after he went for a tumble down the hillside.

Where did that sun come from!? It was raining Saturday, so much so you could hardly see the trail ahead!

The Lasagne at the cafe made up for the bad weather. 😉

I fell into a bramble-bush at Afan a couple of weeks ago, tore the arse out of my shorts 😯

Re the GoPro "clicking" noise: It's because on the chesty mount you can't get the little orange rubber bung in place. If you unclip the camera, and put two strips of electrical tape onto the chest-plate (where the clip slides in), it tightens things up and stops the annoying clicking
