Say I was looking at a cotic rocket with a bos vipr shock, what fork would You be looking at using with it?
<Puts differential equations textbook away and goes off muttering about escape velocities>
Probably a Fox Talas 150 or Revelations.
Fox 34 floats.
Ive got one (with bos viper) and float 32s 150mm, off a Remedy (new DRCV dual/chameber/boost valve type thing)
Feels ace but obviously the DRCV helps and not easily available
The bos really makes a difference, I had a float RL which broke straight away so I took the chance to upgrade which I shoud have done in the first place. In a perfect world I would have a bos deville fork because the rear has it's own feel (mint!) which would be ace to match up front.
Dont get anything heavy because it is a long bike and it might nosedive of drops!
I'd currently be very wary of buying anything with Bos suspension after the reliability and service problems.
What reliability issues are they? Ive heard a lot of the opposite to be honest.. plus they have a 2 year service interval. Wasn't it much to do with the distributors who claim to be much more on it now?
WIth the BOS Vipr, you honestly owe it to yourself and the bike to put a Devile on the front.
Personally, I think you'd struggle to get a good balance with a Vipr mated to anything else. The damping in the Vipr is quite firm and the Devile mates perfectly and gives great balance. Not sure you'd get that balance from other brands of fork.
I am running a matched set myself but not on a Rocket and have been for about 9 months without any issues at all. The only issue is that BOS no longer have a distributor in the UK but there are service specialists who will service but not offer warranty support. For that you'd have to currently go to France until a new distributor is appointed.
Well I bought some talas 150s, but run them at120 on my Soul, the plan is to swap them to a Rocket when funds allow.
Hi
@tbag
I currently run talas 36 on my Rocket having ran Revelations first, but think they may be a bit over the top.
Have just bought some unused DCRV 150mm Kashima Floats but not put them on yet.
Shock is the Kashima RP23 Float
Anymore feedback on settings/feel etc of your setup gratefully received
Cheers
Steve
Sorry mate I missed your question. Id fit them if you havent already, its gonna match up well. As I said I reckon it's not a bike you want to be front heavy. But then if its balanced enough 36's are gonna feel more planted.
The drcv works well imo, it suits bos at the rear in the sense that it doesnt use more travel than it needs too, doesnt wallow over small bumps but the full travel is always available. This keeps the height at the front so run more sag at the back and stay slack ๐
anyone tried a Thor 150?
Hi
Cheers tbag.
Not fitted yet but will in the next week or so.
Just had a weekend in Wales on the 36's and I was riding much harder than I have in the past. Very impressed with the 36's and the bike feels balanced (more so than my mates Orange 5 which feels very rear end heavy)so the 32's will have to be good to stay on.
Gonna be happy either way I reckon
Cheers

I've run Float 150's and 34's on mine. I think I'm going to drop the 34's down to 150 though. I just prefer the balance of the bike with 150's as it's more planted and easier to weight the front on steep climbs and doesn't lose much on the DH. It's a proper weapon with 160mm forks on though ๐
I've had the BOS on my bike since we started testing them this time last year. It's been completely faultless. The do no longer have a distributor over here, but we have struck up a conversation with BOS in France to make sure our customers are supported.
