[#3853732]

I'm an old, fat cross country wobbler looking to have some wheels built.

Chris King or Royce hubs ? (on mavic en521 rims, maybe)

DT Swiss from choice, for me, Hope from budget. But if I could, I'd have DT on everything.

I now use DT240s - lovely hubs - however you need a silly tool to service them is the only drawback - King are pretty but over rated - bad design for the rear and again silly tools and faff to adjust...my hopes are / weredecent - not sure of the pro 2s longevity vs the old XCs... no experience of royce hubs - their bbs are nice and last ages

To be fair to DT, you only need the special tool for the central bearing, which lasts for a very long time, all the other bearings and regular servicing just needs standard tools.

DT240S every time. I own a set currently, and have owned more in the past. Out of choice wouldn't have anything else ever again!

King are highly over rated, not that light, and the noise the freehub makes is sooooo annoying!

Royce are a little behind the times too, quality components that they make, only available QR front and rear. They do look nice, but lack of modern day axle compatibility, and very steep pricing, would rule them out for me.
