Whats the difference between Deore 6 Bolt Disc and XT 6 Bolt Disc hubs?

For the rear wheel.

What about weight?

Definitely massively better sealing. Doubt weight would be a big difference. I wouldn't consider deore unless you live somewhere where it never rains.

if you care about the weight of a hub you should change your name to "oldman" and wear a cardigan...

the cones on the xt 6 bolt ones come loose regularly.

this doesnt happen on the deore 6 bolt ones.

in my experience anyway.

But bear in mind that both sets of hubs will be considerably heavier than the equivalent centre-lock.

VH your xt hubs/cones must be knackered or else they are not being tightened properly.

What is the difference between centre-lock and 6 bolt? (apart from weight)

Centre-lock is for use with Shimano designed centre-lock brake rotors, whereas 6 bolt is for use with 6-bolt rotors which are used by pretty much everyone else (e.g Avid, Magura etc.).

cynical -

they are brannd spankin new. the drive side cones were not properly tightened from new. i had to strip the hub and remove axle to get to them. its pretty crap for a new hub to need servicing right away.

the deores my wife has have been perfic since new??

How much are Shimano hubs now given the horrific Shimano price increases?

Any way you stump up the money for a cartridge bearing type hub?

Bound to someone on here knows of something good and cheap.

same experience as VH.

infact i could do with tightening it a third time and using a dab of lock-tite or araldite to stop it happening again before i need to replace the hub (new build).
