I'm trying to keep an old set of wheels going: Sun Ringle Charger Pro 26". I want to change the bearings on the front hub but I can't get access to them. The rear was simple..unscrew one of the black ' top hats' on the end of the axle to pull out one bearing then tap out the other side.

On the front hub there are 2 metal red cylinders either side which you put in your 20mm quick relase through axle. There doesn't seem to be anything to unscrew and I assumed the red cylinders just pulled straight off to expose the bearings. I pulled with a set of pliers but no joy yet. Just before I give it a real heave ho I wanted to double check I'm not missing something obvious.

Here is a link of the wheels. https://www.singletracks.com/mtb-gear/sun-ringle-charger-pro-mtb-wheelset-review/

Top pic is the front hub. Any help much appreciated.

Dan

I had some sun ringle's and the rear freehub came off by sticking a 10mm allen key thru the axle hole. It could be a circlip around the red cyclinders though.
