[#2409973]

Ive got a doere mtb wheel without an axle/freewheel etc, just the bare hub. I've rummaged through my spares and the only thing I think may fit is an axle etc from a shimano 105 road wheel. Any one know for sure if its compatable before I pull apart a perfectly good road wheel?

The axle will be too short.

Road spacing is different to MTB, so won't work

Cheers.
I'll have to look deeper into the spares shed.

You can get away with the shorter axle (they are 9mm longer than the OLD), but the spacers and seals will be different.

On One had some cheap shimano hubs going a while back, buy one of them and rip it apart for spares?

Not looking to spend cash on it as its a hack bike I'm building.
May have to stick a swap ad in!

I've got a 475 hub, I swapped out at the weekend. Bearings a bit rough, but freehub is ok. I can chuck in some new bearings from work if you fancy swapping all the bits over onto your Deore shell. Dont want anything for it, I'm happy knowing someone can get some use from it before it goes s its not all going in the skip. Drop me an email if your intrested.
