Brand new XTR M9120 trail brakes. Turns out the finned bit on the pads rattles against the caliper, and it's not subtle... this would drive you mad.
Solution: 4 o-rings, one each stretched around the finned part above the pad. I used 12mm ID x 0.8mm width ... something around 20x0.8mm would probably be ideal.
Black so you can't see them, pads still move and clear the rotor with no rubbing, silent.
Frustrating that it's necessary but I'm happy now...
