I'm dead set on tubeless but obviously object to paying more than £20 for a bicycle tyre.

I like the look of these here Rubber Queens and wondered if anyone knew how tight a fit on rims the wire ones are for fitting it up stan's style?

No link?

But, I have a wire 2.4 Rubber Queen and a Kevlar 2.2 Rubber Queen, no real difference noticed when fitting them IIRC. Whilst not really loose, nor were they particularly tight. Tighter than a set of Kevlar Nevegals if that helps??

i had to get spokes to remove a wire bead conti vert from some 717s back in 1st year, with BIG metal tyre levers - i snapped 3 trying myself.

never gonna bother with them again.

Tom- they'll be tubeless and obviously I have access to those levers. So getting them on and off isn't much of an issue.

I don't really notice tread compounds- does this make me a noob?

Wire contis have been the tightest, most irritating thumb and lever destroying nightmares I've ever had the displeasure of fitting. Never, ever ever again.

+1 jackthedog's comment. I've got some Conti Speed King wires & have gone through about 3 or 4 tyre levers getting them on & off in the time I've owned them. Other than that, they are great tyres.
I can get some Panaracer Fire's on & off the rims without even needing a tyre lever....
