Did an inventory the other day and I was surprised to discover I've somehow managed to collect 35 tyres.

Is this a normal amount or do I have a problem?

At a quick reckoning, 19.

But I do own 6 bikes, so not many spares.

Erm - 10 on bikes and another 10 in the shed, although that does include 2 Mountain Kings and a pair of Toiga Factory XC's so only 8 proper spare tyres ๐Ÿ˜†

8 on 4 bikes,
and 3 other pairs
can justify mine ๐Ÿ˜€
as these are different types of tyres altogether,
a commuting, a touring, and a summer off road tyre (that are rubbish and I should bin em really)

8 bikes....

Spesh/Marin/Giant MTBs - 4 x big tyres, 6 x XC tyres, 1 x semi-slicks, 2 x slicks.
BMX - 2 sets
Giant/Scott road bikes - 6 sets in total.
Town bikes x 2 - One set per bike.

17 tyres (including those fitted to the 3 bikes I own)but I wouldn't count many of them as spares necessarily as 6 of them are unused ones which came on the bikes when bought - and others are slicks that I fit to the cx bike for the commute.

Including Mrs Tjs bikes I think its 13 on bikes (well one on a unicycle) and around 16 more tyres.

All perfectly justifiable. Summer / winter for the MTBs. Offroad expedition or touring for the tandem. commuting tyres etc etc. I do throw worn out ones away.

8 I think. 6 on bikes and a set of Sport Contacts by my desk. I don't really keep stuff, I tend to move stuff on.

Way more than a sane person with one mountain bike would own.
One of my riding buddies has one set of tyres on each bike for all conditions. He wonders why he's 2.1111 seconds slower than all of us..

About three times as many as the other half thinks I have. Probably about 40 including those on mine and her bikes (5 bikes in total; mountain 26er and 29er, road). Although some of those are never going to be used as they are rubbish or are verging on lethal if you don't live in california. These mostly came on bikes or were "gifts" from friends.

So tyres that I would use? Probably 10-15. Just over the number of wheels I need to put tyres on. Happy coincidence!

32 fitted to bikes (10 of those are road, TT and track bikes). About 50 spare road tyres/tubs, and about 6 spare MTB tyres.

A quick reckon up tells me...

56 in the cellar and 12 on bikes (6 all mine).

Of these there are 2 I'll never use (tioga factory dh and wtb velicoraptor?) and 14 brand new dh tyres I got free and need to sell some of! The rest I'm making my way through slowly.

About 25 tyres and 7 sets of wheels, split between 24" and 26".

Everything from Racing Ralphs through to Mud X's, plus some DH ones too.

I thought I only had about 20 or 25, until I counted them.

It's funny how I've obviously got too many, but yet you can never have enough either.

Steveh - don't suppose you have a 2.5 ST minion F in that lot do you?

And to contribute to the thread - 6 on bikes, maybe 6 or 8 more as spares, including some truly useless ones I will never use - 2.7 SR high roller anyone???

I thought I had a few until I saw this thread - 8 on bike and 4 spares + 2 on the Mrs P bike so 14 for 5 bikes.

Sheesh, why would want that many tyres, people??

Some "experts" on here told me that 29er tyres were hard to get hold of so I thought I should buy a few spares. ๐Ÿ˜†

Yes but they won't wear out before the change in conditions mean something else is more appropriate ..

1 set on the P7
1 set on the Demo7
But some strange reason i've got 3 sets of cyclocross tyres and a set of road tyres for it.

2 turbo tyres, 8 tyres on the bikes, a set of winter tyres and a spare set of 1.9IRC Mythos. So that would be 14, but have given away about 6 sets of part worn tyres recently.

This thread made me have a look, sold quite a few a while back but still have 8 on bikes and another 14 spare - didnt realise I had that many. My son recently got his first full size bike with 26" wheels so I am sure the store of tyres will disappear rapidly.
