[#9304282]

I've had my Rohloff for maybe two years now having bought it SH.

I don't do the mileage but stick to the recommendation to service it annually.

In use the hub is very smooth but in the stand or walking the bike the hub spins the cranks as though it were a fixed set up.

The BB is a super smooth UN91 so there isn't the resistance common with an external BB but is this very common?

When pedalling I cannot say it's noticeable but must clearly must be having an effect. Bearings seem smooth still.

All the same or is there anything that can be done?

There may be some stiction from the sprocket or sprocket carrier - that's quite a large seal behind that. A couple of drops of oil behind the sprocket might be worth a try. Especially if it's not getting massive mileage, that seal might be drying out.

Thanks Ben.

Do you mean dripping it into the gap between the sprocket and the shell.

Any recommendations for oil? I'm guessing the specific Rohloff stuff but I'm out of that.

Mine spins the cranks went pushing too so I wouldn't worry too much.

As long as it's not causing the chain to sag I wouldn't be too concerned.

Yes - there's a big lip seal there. Any decent oil will be fine - you're not filling the hub with it, just wetting the seal.
