Hi
I have just bought some Hope x2 tech brakes and the lever obscures the gear up shift trigger.
it is not possible to up-shift without fouling the brake lever and cam with the finger on a relatively (glove abrading edge). is this a design error, or is there trick to setting up the lever position, the clamp won't go any closer to the shifter.
they are xt shifters of circa 2007/8

Shifters need to be mounted outboard of these levers, modern XT shifters will need the windows removed, and their disc hidden behind the window fitted in it's place. There's also an alternative mounting position on the shifter which usually works better with these levers.
hope matchmakers any good?
The levers go way inboard on the bars so that they are set up perfectly for one finger braking. I had the same issue and coming from Mono Minis the lever position felt/looked odd.
Now though, best thing since toast. ๐
I have my shifters spaced out from the brake, but I've odd shaped fingers/hands so need the lever in much further than the shifter -

Hmmm interesting.
so there is a trick, and they can be mounted in board...
I shall experiment at the weekend.
Thanks all.

PS what is a hope matchmaker?

I run them far enough in that I can leave the indicator windows on. Works for me, possibly not for you, but try it before you remove the windows.
