[#7242976]

I've got some nice new Hope Enduro wheels. Yay. I want to set them up tubeless. I have some valves, some goo and some compatible tyres. I did have some Superstar rim tape but I've lost it; will the stuff that came with the wheels work or do I need some more? It's like fabricy stuff.

Fabric stuff is pourus use electrical insulating tape if you don't have the proper rim tape.

Cool, thought as much. Ta!

**edit** Do I need the fabric stuff *and* the tubeless stuff?

Just the tubeless stuff. Pity you lost the SS stuff, I found it very good on those wheels.

I probably gave it away knowing me. I'll just order another roll, I'm in no hurry.

Same wheels here. Used Stans tape in mine. Very easy to setup, just pull the tape very tight as you apply so it stretches nicely and fits the shape of the rim. I'd not done this before and managed it first go so can't be too hard ๐Ÿ˜€

Tried last night, gave up. Tyres were way too loose I think. Boo.

Gorilla tape works very well for tubeless.

I did a loop around with the fabric tape to fill the rather deep section of the rim, and then used stans and superstar valves.

went up with no issues (maxxis) and sealed nicely

Might give it another try next week, but the tyres (On One CM / Smorgasbord) went on way too easily, I wasn't surprised they wouldn't go up. Got two wraps of SS tape on one rim and it made no difference; guess I could strip 'em both and go fabric > SS tape and give that a go. I'll bloody run out of tape at this rate ๐Ÿ˜‰

I found the tape moved and was a pain with the deep centre. A couple of 24" tubes cut to rim strips worked brilliantly and a used Smorg/chunky went up with a track pump. Much less faff, went up first time and stayed up.

a few wraps of stans tape and stans valves and tyres inflated first go for me.
